Introduction
Lokal is a hyperlocal news & classifieds app, aimed at bringing the power of digital, to the unreached millions in India. Targeted particularly at those in tier 3 and tier 4 cities, Lokal aimed to leverage brilliant UX design, to make relatively alien technology second nature to those using it.

Introducing new features
We added matrimony and classified flows which included multiple services as well as buying and selling of goods, and real estate listings. The new functionality had to be supplemented with effective onboarding, in order to let users grasp the full extent of these features.

Visual overhaul
We incorporated the teal colour palette to offer a unique identity and an easily recognizable interface to the brand design. We had to steer away from modern fonts, instead leaning towards a geometric font like Lohit Telugu, which would appear more familiar to users.

A/B testing
The new design was tested with users to determine if they understood the revamped information architecture, remodeled content architecture, iconography, and information that was displayed. Changes were then implemented to optimize user clarity.
